C-Care to provide medical cover at Vinka's "Live & Loud" concert tonight
Thousands of fans are expected at Lugogo Cricket Oval tonight for Vinka's "Live & Loud" concert, and organisers Swangz Avenue say medical support will be on standby throughout, following an arrangement with private healthcare provider C-Care Uganda.
Under the agreement, C-Care will station medical teams and ambulances at the venue from the time gates open until the show ends. The teams are meant to handle routine event-related complaints such as dehydration, heat exhaustion and minor injuries, and to step in for more serious emergencies if they arise.
C-Care says patients needing more than basic first aid would be stabilised on-site and taken to its Kololo hospital, with the most serious cases referred on to C-Care International Hospital Kampala (IHK) for specialist treatment.
Sheila Aboth, C-Care Uganda's Head of Brand, framed the arrangement as part of a broader push to make large gatherings safer, saying big events carry health and safety risks alongside the entertainment value, and that having medical staff on hand lets attendees enjoy the night with more peace of mind.

On-site medical provision at Ugandan concerts has historically been inconsistent, with coverage often limited to a first-aid tent or informal arrangements with nearby clinics. Formal partnerships between hospitals and promoters — of the kind described here — have become more visible in the past few years as concert crowds in Kampala have grown, but they remain the exception rather than the rule at most local shows.
Neither C-Care nor Swangz Avenue disclosed the size of the medical team being deployed, how many ambulances will be on-site, or whether the arrangement is a one-off for this concert or the start of a longer-term partnership covering future Swangz Avenue events. It's also not clear from the announcement whether attendees will be charged for on-site treatment or referral care, a detail that matters given C-Care operates as a private provider.

"Live & Loud" is billed as one of the year's bigger local concerts, with Vinka headlining at Lugogo Cricket Oval, a venue that regularly hosts major Kampala concerts and has capacity for crowds in the tens of thousands. Large turnout at Ugandan concerts has previously strained security and logistics at various venues, which is the backdrop against which announcements like this one are typically made.
C-Care Uganda is a private healthcare group operating multiple facilities in Kampala, including C-Care Kololo Hospital and C-Care IHK. Swangz Avenue is one of Uganda's more established entertainment and talent management companies.
