Can a bank teach you to be a better husband? KCB Uganda is betting yes.

KCB Bank Uganda has launched a new mentorship initiative for male employees, called the Building Great Men Mentorship Programme, aimed at building leadership skills and supporting personal wellbeing both inside and outside the workplace.
The programme was launched at the bank's Kampala headquarters, with senior management, employees, mentors, and partner organizations attending sessions on leadership, accountability, emotional intelligence, and mentorship.
Thirty two employees are taking part as the programme's first cohort. Over the next six months, they will go through structured coaching and peer learning sessions intended to build leadership skills and support personal development, according to the bank.
KCB Bank Uganda Managing Director Edgar Byamah said the programme reflects the bank's broader investment in staff development. "Our success as an organization is built on the strength of our people," he said at the launch. "The Building Great Men Mentorship Programme reflects our belief that leadership begins with character, purpose and personal growth."
The programme is being run by Alpha Lead, an external mentorship provider. Alpha Lead coach Andrew Kimuli said the initiative is meant to extend beyond career development. "This programme is about helping men become the best version of themselves," he said, adding that the goal is to support men in becoming better leaders, colleagues, and family members.
The bank describes the programme as part of a wider employee wellbeing and leadership strategy. It has not said whether the initiative will be expanded to more employees or become a recurring program.
