KCB KOBs travel to Kenya for two match clash with KCB Rugby
Uganda's 13 time champions meet a Kenyan side sharing their sponsor's name, with the return leg in Kampala on Oct. 24
KCB KOBs will cross into Kenya on Saturday, Oct. 3, to face KCB Rugby at KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka, Nairobi, kicking off at 3:00 p.m. in the first of two matches between clubs that carry the same bank's name.
The return leg is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, at Kampala Grounds, formerly Legends Ground, giving Ugandan fans the chance to watch the second match at home.
Confidence after a comeback
KOBs, known as the Blue Army, head to Nairobi after ending a two year wait for a Uganda Rugby 7s Series stop title. They beat Rams RFC 22 to 19 in the Kyabazinga 7s final after trailing 19 to 5 at halftime.
The club has already faced Kenyan opposition this year through the return of the Enterprise Cup, a competition meant to build ties between the two rugby communities.
A partnership since 2023
KCB Bank Uganda took naming rights to the club in 2023, and the side became KCB KOBs. KOBs were founded in 1963 and have won 13 Premiership titles. In 2025 the bank renewed and increased its support to UGX 195 million, including a new playing kit and help with club operations.
The bank says the fixture shows how sport can build links across borders, while also giving players exposure to a different level of competition.
