Trosen brothers lead foreign challenge at National Motocross finale

German brothers Fabian and Nil Trosen will line up against Uganda’s best riders in the seventh and final round of the 2026 National Motocross Championship on October 25, with rally cars also set to feature in an exhibition on the day.
Fabian will race in the MX1 class, while Nil will compete in the 65cc category. The brothers arrived on Tuesday with their mother and are staying at Amazon Residences in Bunga, the main sponsors of the event.
Fabian last raced in Uganda in 2022 and says the welcome keeps him coming back.
“I have been to Uganda before and I really enjoy riding with the local riders because they are friendly. Whenever I come here, I feel at home and that makes the experience even more special,” he said.
They will be joined by a regional contingent from Kenya and Rwanda, including Kenyan rider Amani Amani. With titles still to be decided in several classes, the visitors are expected to push the local riders hard.
Rally drivers will also bring their cars out for an exhibition. They are using the day to test their machines ahead of the next National Rally Championship round on October 30 in the Kyenjojo and Kamwenge areas. Those expected are John Semudu, Ponsiano Lwakataka, Ronald Serunjoji, Abdul Katete, Mathius Kiyega, Nasib Sesanga and Yasin Omar.
Event organiser Semakula says the rally cars will give fans more to enjoy.
“Bringing the rally cars into the programme will add colour and excitement to the activities we have lined up for the fans. We want to give motorsport lovers a memorable day, with something for everyone to enjoy,” Semakula said.
The event also closes the 2026 championship, and the top performers in each class will be recognised for their results across the season.
