Directors Mr. and Mrs. Makumbi present a gold medal to His Worship the Lord Mayor of Kampala, Eng. Balimwezo.
Kampala Lord Mayor Ronald Balimwezo attended Makindye Junior Academy's "Mega Sports Day and Talent Boost Celebration" on Salaama Muyonyo Road on 8th August as guest of honour, where he took part in the day's sporting activities and won a medal.
The event brought together learners, parents and teachers for a day of sports and talent presentations, including football, swimming, basketball and netball, alongside student talent performances.
Addressing the school community, Balimwezo urged parents to prioritise their children's education and wellbeing, saying investment in a child is among the most important a parent can make. He also encouraged parents to keep up with school-fee payments and to continue investing in their children's education, talents and future.
He commented on the school's approach of combining academics with skills training and sports, saying it created an environment for pupils to develop their abilities, confidence and practical talents.
Balimwezo then joined in some of the day's competitions himself, winning a medal in one event.
Makindye Junior Academy describes its focus as "Education, Skilling and Sports for All," under the motto "We Strive for Real Service."
